The International Rescue Committee

From 2014 to early 2017, Anna led communications, design and advocacy for the International Rescue Committee's health team. Her focus areas included the 2014-2016 Ebola response, reproductive health and nutrition. She wrote and designed several reports and facilitated placements in target media outlets, including The New York Times, The Economist, Buzzfeed, and the World Health Organization's Bulletin.

The Ebola Response

Anna oversaw communications for the 2014-2016 Ebola response on behalf of the health team. She managed a messaging document that centralized insight and aligned messaging from the health team, the country programs, communications and advocacy. She helped write numerous op-eds, press releases and speeches, which led to placements in The New York Times, The Economist, TIME, NPR, The Daily Beast and CNN. She also supported editing a chapter for a textbook on primary health care workers during the outbreak. She also wrote two advocacy reports, "The Ebola Lessons Reader" and "A Different Kind of Army."

Impossible Nowhere

Anna spearheaded the adoption of reproductive health — and specifically contraception — in emergencies as an organizational communications priority. She led the creation of a report, "Impossible Nowhere," on contraception in crises.

Reproductive Health for Burundian Refugees

Anna led a media campaign to highlight the lack of reproductive health services in the third largest refugee camp in the world. Her work led to coverage in Reuters, the New York Times, Vice, Buzzfeed and Refinery 29

A Mother's Dream

Anna shot and edited a video highlighting the impact of IRC's work to expand immunization coverage in Ethiopia.
